a Licensing Agreement, or license agreement, is a
contract between the owner of a patent, brand or trademark and a company that
wants to use the patented or trademarked for product and services. The license
grants permission to the licensee and includes rules and stipulations. The licensee
must honor these guidelines by the licensor and the contract agreement by both
parties.

The
year 2024 continued GPK licenses from existing contracts, in the absence of retired
Ira Friedman (VP of Licensing & Publishing), and brand-new contracts are currently
in question, although it is rumoured Fanatics wanted to limit and reduce the amount
of GPK licenses for the time being. Alphabetically, the pre-existing license agreements
with Topps for the Garbage Pail Kids brand included, Abrams
Books, Cloudco Entertainment (Madballs), Dynamite
Entertainment,
Get A Grip Skateboards,
Flix Candy Co., Greenlight Collectibles, Hybris Production AB,

As with the year 2024, Abrams Books continued their GPK license with calendar
releases (only), for the 2025 calendar year. The pre-orders appeared online during
mid April 2024 (with no images), and mock-up product pictures appeared the week
of April 29, 2024, along with sample pages.

NOTE:
Indican Pictures owns the rights to the 30 Years of Garbage documentary through
mid-2024, when the film rights would then go back to the original creators. Indican
may have entered a last-minute contract with Capelight pictures for a release
in the German and UK regions; but it is unknown why the GPK doc would be packaged
with an MGM product. The GPK doc DVD can be purchased HERE,
on the Indican Pictures website. ADDT’L NOTE: The
SHOUT! Factory released the GPK movie on BD for the first time in the U.S. in

Summary:

stand was released around October 2023, within Five Below stores, and the “Singles

by GreenLight® Collectibles included GPK-themed diecast cars that continued
through the year 2024. The slime green color packaging would remain intact, reminiscent
of and associated by collectors with the All-New Series release of 2003. The packaging
stated ‘SERIES 6’ & ‘SERIES 7’ and also showed a ‘PEELABLE STICKER’ on the
frontside as an extra incentive that would appeal to both GPK sticker card collectors
and diecast car collectors alike. Series 1, Series 2, Series 3, Series 4, and
FYE exclusive vehicle information can be located witin the ‘YEAR : 2019’, ‘YEAR
: 2020’, ‘YEAR : 2021’, ‘YEAR : 2022’, and ‘YEAR : 2023’ pages, respectively.

posters for Series 1 through 3 were available through the Hybris Merchandise Wholesale
webshop starting in 2022, which sold to resellers and corporate customers only,
such as JustPosters™,
that sold directly to consumers. In 2024, poster images for several OS1 characters
were posted to the Hybris store website in 2024 with a retail price. The posters
measure 50cm x 70cm which converts to 19.7 x 27.50 in inches.

January 31, 2024, Jago Studios took to Facebook to announce that the GPK Game
would no longer be supported on its servers past the end of March, stating, “To
all our players, and to all fans of the Garbage Pail Kids, we want to say THANK
YOU!!! Thank you for playing with us these past years. And thank for the opportunity
to play in your world. We’ve made the difficult decision to sunset GPK:TheGame,
which from today will no longer be available for download from the app stores.
For existing players, the game will remain live through March 31st, 2024. It’s
been a weird and wonderful pleasure to join the GPK lore. Hopefully it brought
some smiles and memories to see some of your favorite GPK characters brought to
life. Whether you’ve grown out of the cards or not, keep reverence for their
irreverence. It’s always better in the trash heap, together.”
The GPK license may have ended, may not have been extended, or Fanatics may not
have made it an option; starting in late 2023, they wanted to limit GPK licensing
going forward.

On
September 19, 2023, GPK News announced that Monogram International Inc. would
deput their 3D GPK Figural Foam Bag Clips Series 3 at the New York Toy Fair from
September 30 through October 03, which will be available to the public later next
year. Both Series 3 and and a potential Series 4 have been in development for

Series 3 set, and the Licenses 2022 page for the first two series, plus the ADAM
Bomb figural bank character, etcetera.

On
February 7, 2024, Monogram International, Inc. took to social media (Instagram,
etcetera) to post a GPK ad for the figural bag clip characters, simply stating
“Calling all GPK fans.”

online around April 2024. The no.6 ‘ROY Bot’ character listed was originally planned
for the tentative Series 4 release, but pulled and used in Series 3, to replace
JOE Blow character which was removed, and renamed ‘Hot Head HARVEY’; most likely
due to the fact that the Bazooka brand was acquisitioned by Apax Partner in October

has released GPK product for several years, including a Universal Monster mash-up
card sets & t-shirts in 2019 & 2020, and GPK ReAction ADAM Bomb figures
from 2020 to present. On May 29, 2024, Super7 took to their social media channels
to post a close-up shot of another ADAM Bomb ReAction figure & ‘Cheaters License’
card back, and possibly hinting at another release, simply stating, “Don’t
press that button! #ComingTomorrow”.
Curiously, for their Vol.35 No.3 June/July 2024 issue, the Non-Sport Update
publication had a small write-up on the GITD figure that was released in 2022
and has been SOLD OUT for quite some time, at least on the
Super7 website; new product posted to Entertainment Earth, etc. in May 2024 (Item
