Per,
Men’s Journal in November 2021: BEYOND THE STREETS, the ever popular art show
focused on graffiti, street art, and more is returning this year. The fair’s
second virtual edition, slated for December 1 & 2, 2021, will once again be
curated by Roger Gastman, BEYOND THE STREETS founder and longtime champion of
graffiti as a contemporary art form. Cleon Peterson, the LA-based artist, will
serve as BEYOND THE STREETS artistic director and will also create exclusive products
for BEYOND THE STREETS.
The 2-day virtual art fair will launch a series of exclusive products across fine
art, collectibles, apparel, and home goods, and stream a series of artist conversations,
emcee’d by J Balvin, that explore the today’s landscape of street art
and graffiti in addition to studio work. BEYOND THE STREETS x NTWRK will feature
over 75 world-class artists, designers, and brands, including Bert Krak, CB Hoyo,
DABSMYLA with Late Lunch, MADSAKI, Mike GIANT, Mister Cartoon, Takashi Murakami,
POSE, Shepard Fairey, Spacebrat and Wild Style with Vic Mensa all debuting new
work — including paintings, sculptures, limited-edition prints, skate decks,
drawings, and more. Some product highlights include a new series of Garbage Pail
Kids designed and inspired by the likes of Cleon Peterson, Maya Hayuk and Mister
Cartoon, 12 custom skate decks and new DABSMYLA x J Balvin apparel. The art fair
will stream on the NTWRK app on December 1 and 2.

“Designed 10 cards for the new Topps Garbage Pail Kids Beyond The Streets
box set. 83 cards total featuring work from contemporary graffiti and street artists.”

crocodile.jackson: I’M A GARBAGE PAIL KID,
MOMMA! I’m super excited to announce that I’ve officially joined the
@topps GPK family. I got to recreate one of the original 83 cards for BEYOND THE
STREETS series 2 GPK box. Grab one of the box’s with my card (and 26 other
amazing artists) from @beyondthestreetsart this Wednesday! Thank you so much for
the opportunity @alexpardee and @topps

arteknyc: I created my own Garbage
Pail Kids based on one of the classic @Topps GPK characters for the BEYOND THE
STREETS. 3 Card Monty was a perfect fit and he inspired my Time Square series
that always will be showing. The card is part of a a limited-edition collection
of 83 cards featuring 26 AMAZING artists. [POST #2] Here is my other card which
is a Garbage Pail Kids self-portrait called “Drewminatti” It shows a
me in true GPK form and in my usual attire. The concept is pretty spot on as well.
It shows my head exploding trying to get out all my ideas and pushing myself as
an artist while being judged by critics and the gatekeepers of the Illuminati
of the art world.

deferk2s: This project made me reminisce to the gritty
80”s the Garbage Pail Kids were the sign of the times @topps – it’s
great to reignite this collection curated by @rogergastman

diego_bergia:
YO! My 8 year old self would not believe this. I created my own Garbage Pail Kids
self-portrait, paired with one of the classic @Topps GPK characters for the BEYOND
THE STREETS Series 2 Garbage Pail Kids Box.

eliquinters: I created my own

collection of 83 cards featuring 26 fellow artists.

gz.jr: I’m also

My Peoples!!! My 1st Garbage Pail Kid Cards aka “GPK5” Goes Live on
the @ntwrk App tomorrow, Wednesday December 1 at 11am PST only at the @beyondthestreetsart
virtual art fair. Attendance to the art fair is free-download the @NTWRK app to
experience virtual festival, get live updates, and view the full, amazing lineup
curated by the mighty @cleonpeterson I chose Mad Mike because i love Conan The
Barbarian. Look closely for hidden information in his black body paint tattoos,
his Thulsa Doom haircut and snake hair, and Snake themed fuzzy britches, all in
honor of the classic film. His axe is now a book, “In With Anger Out With
Love,” because reading is fundamental… He is Beyond the Pail, Because
thank you @topps & @beyondthestreetsart ?????? and i created a bandaid font
because we always need to HEAL… He is wielding a battle ravaged pencil sword,
and one of the snakes is saying, Stay Fly…& lots of other encrypted things
to discover!!A super fun translation from the original card from 1985, when i
was 15.

jk5nyc: Live today at 11am PST only on the @NTWRK app! I had a
blast doing this self-portrait entitled, “Farbridge Sail Lids” inscribed
above my eyes… This image is inspired by The HR Giger(RIP) Designed cover,
for Deborah Harrys 1981 album entitled, “KooKoo.” Felt appropriate.
I have always done self portrait studies that reflect a style and theme im exploring
at the time, going back to my childhood, and i aspired to render a chosen photo
of myself slightly blended formally with the classic garbage pail/cabbage patch
kid face. those are my actual throat, neck and upper chest tattoos, with Garbage
Pail Kids patterns and elements. Who can decipher the alien glyph like writing
on the headband? How about the writing in the lightning firey background? Love
& thanks to my team, @rogergastman @cleonpeterson @topps @beyondthestreetsart
@ntwrk and all the good vibes and camaraderie from my fellow artists and all of
you out there on the world wide webs. Much Love, & Happy Holidaze, JK5
